Choir, Kendal, Cumbria The
45 strong choir was created in the early '70's from the Netherfield Male
Voice Choir which was previously for employees of K shoes. The choir
gives about 12 concerts each year in and around Cumbria and North
Lancashire.

Kaleidoscope Community
Choir, Derby A community choir of
around 40 members. We sing songs from
Georgia, Bulgaria, AFrica, and other cultures, as well as arrangements
of pop, folk and early music. We do not audition and members do not need
to read music. We occasionally perform for good causes. We meet during
school term time and people can join at any time.

Kaleidoscope Girls
Choir, County Antrim Based in County Antrim, Kaleidoscope started
life as a training organisation for Loughside Chamber Choir, but in
recent years the teenage group has become very successful in its own
right. Kaleidoscope operates in junior and senior sections, with the
main group in Newtownabbey being complemented by a twin organisation in
County Armagh. The girls work on the same repertoire and then join
together for concerts and competitions.

sing at a Cathedral. They also tour, and have broadcast on Radios 2 &
4. They began at Otterbourne, Hampshire, where John Keble was Rector in
the 19th century

on Wednesday and Sunday in the vast neo-gothic splendour of Keble College

Kedron Choir, Glasgow We are a Christian Choir, formed in 1955
just after Billy Graham visited Glasgow, bringing
the Christian message to
people in Glasgow and the surrounding areas
through the spoken word and our music.

Keele Bach Choir, Midlands The Keele Bach
Choir is one of the premier small choirs in the Midlands. We were founded
26 years ago and have around 40 members, drawn from the University and the
surrounding area. Our artistic director is Matthew Willis. We are a dynamic choir,
performing to a very high standard.

Philharmonic Choir, Keele University, Newcastle-under-Lyme,
Staffordshire. Keele Philharmonic Choir joins with Keele
Philharmonic Orchestra
to form one society, run by a student committee. Matthew
Willis has been our Conductor and Artistic Director since 2001,
breathing new life into the choir, introducing a yearly summer
tour (this year's being Austria) and exciting repertoire such as
Bernstein's Chichester Psalms, and the upcoming Berlioz'
Requiem.
Formerly a compulsory activity for University Music students,
the choir's membership is now diversified with singers of all
ages, from all over campus and the surrounding area, thus
creating a pleasant atmosphere and high quality, vibrant
concerts.

Yorkshire
70-voice choir founded in 1906, a former winner of the Mixed Voice
Choirs competition at the
Llangollen
International Eisteddfod and best known for its unaccompanied
singing. It has had only two conductors (both called Smith) and two
accompanists since the mid 1930's.

Choral Society, Tavistock, Devon Founded in 1976 by the
Reverend Anthony Curry, who was Head of Music at Kelly College. His
ambition was to establish in Tavistock an adult mixed voice choir that
could perform major choral works for pleasure. The SATB choir is now
approximately 65 strong and is accompanied by orchestra, organ or piano
as the pieces demand.

County Junior Choir In July 1987 and 1988 the first
two 3-day residential singing courses for junior and younger secondary
school pupils were held at Benenden School. Following the great success
of these courses and the enthusiasm they engendered, the Kent County
Junior Choir was formed, comprising children from all areas of the
county aged 11 to 14. The choir is taught by choral and vocal
specialists, who also teach music in the county's schools and Kent Music
School's music centres.

County Junior Singers The youngest and newest of the
County Youth Choirs, formed in September 1992, are affectionately known
as the "Smarties" because of the multi-coloured T-shirts they wear on
stage. The singers are aged between 8 and 13 years and the main aim of
this group is to communicate to children the sheer joy of singing,
leading them to understand the delight of the emotional and dramatic
response they are capable of giving and receiving.

Youth Barbershop has emerged as a direct result of the
chamber ensembles that have been encouraged during Kent Youth Choir
courses. This group of 4 to 8 senior male singers is highly popular,
entertaining audiences everywhere with its often humorous and highly
professional performances.

Youth Chamber Choir Formed in 1987 and comprises
senior and former members of Kent Youth Choir, ranging from 18 to 25
years of age. Courses are held regularly through the year, developing
members' choral skills and experience through study of mainly
unaccompanied, demanding music for small ensembles. The group, which is
normally 16 to 20 in number, performs regularly at Kent Youth Choir
concerts and on tours.

was formed in January 1983 to give opportunities for choral singing at
an advanced level to talented and committed musicians between the ages
of 15 and 21. Residential courses are held in the three main school
holiday periods, when a balanced programme of music in varying styles
and from many periods and countries is studied in depth in preparation
for public performances

Youth Singers was formed in 1988 in response to demand
for places in the Kent Youth Choir. A lively and talented mixed choir,
aged 14 to 21 years, members are selected by audition from across the
county - places in the Kent Youth Singers are highly sought after. With
experience gained in this group, many members go on to audition
successfully for membership of the Youth Choir. A varied programme of
music, which includes some choreographed items, is studied during the
three residential courses that the Singers share with the Choir each
year.

We are a 30-32 voice mixed adult choir founded in 1994. Our
repertoire is designed specifically for public and special occasion
performances being mainly 20th century, both sacred and secular, and
with some traditional Cornish works thrown in, and ranges from John
Rutter to swing and close harmony. We tour, especially to Ontario,
Canada every three years or so, as well as around the UK, and
perform in traditional Cornish costume: the men wear the full formal
Cornish National tartan kilts with matching black jackets, and the
ladies wear complementary green ball gowns with a tartan sash

specialises in early music but has an equally impressive reputation for

Northamptonshire. A mixed chamber
choir which was established in 1992. It numbers around thirty members and
performs a variety of music from the Renaissance to the present day,
including West Gallery music. Works
range from small scale part songs, folksongs and motets to larger cantatas
and specially commissioned works. We are a friendly group who
enjoy singing together and making music to our full potential
- Kevock Choir, Scotland. One
of Scotland's foremost large choirs, with a singing strength of around
100, founder in 1967 in Lasswade, from former pupils of Lasswade High
School. Nowadays members come from all over the Lothians and from Fife and
Renfrewshire.

Choral Society, Worcestershire The 140-strong mixed-voice
Society performs the great choral works, from the Classical to the
Modern, usually in the 150-year-old Town Hall in Kidderminster. It
is 105 years old, but young at heart - as its youth choir, Wyre
Forest Young Voices, and its children's choir, Primary Chords, can
testify. In 2005 it will present the Kidderminster Music Festival,
as part of the celebrations of the Town Hall's birthday. Since 1989
it has had a close link with the Theodor Storms Chor, its partner
choir in Kidderminster's German twin town

1878 when the Glee Union was formed. Following its disbandment the
Kidderminster Male Choir was formed in 1904.

specialise in a "popular" repertoire mostly focusing on gospel, soul and

- Kings of Herts, Harpenden,
Hertfordshire A talented Mens four part harmony chorus of 52 members
based in Harpenden. They perform at many public and private functions
and competitions in the county and elsewhere. Members of the chorus
also perform in quartets, or more regularly for charitable events as a
small chorus of around 14 members. They have a contemporary repertoire
from traditional ballads to more recent upbeat comedy and show numbers.

who envisaged the daily singing of services in his magnificent chapel.
Today's choir of 16 choristers, 14 choral scholars and two organ
scholars is famous for its annual Christmas Eve broadcast of the
Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols

A friendly mixed choir of over 100 voices, singing a range of music from

Kingdom Choir, South London
The Kingdom Choir is a collective of outstanding singers drawn from
various denominations in the South East area of England. They are a
unique group of dedicated men and women, who blend Choral discipline
with the raw Gospel spiritual sound – drawn from an inner experience.
The choir have sung before the Queen and other dignitaries such as
Nelson Mandela and Bishop Desmond Tutu as well as alongside artists like
Elton John and Luther Vandross.
